This means I’m responsible for taking minutes during meetings and managing the email, something our new members will already have noticed from the fantastic welcome message they received. Sticking to the topic of new members (first-years), I also act as the supervisor of the First-Year Committee, where events for first-years, by first-years are organized.
I also hold the position of Social Media Manager, which means I run our awesome Instagram account and maintain the F.C. Sophia website. On that website, I’ll be posting great snapshots from our events, so if you happen to have any nice photos you’d like featured there, feel free to send them to me via app, email, DM, or carrier pigeon, and who knows, they might end up on the site!
While carrying out all these tasks, together with my fellow flaming board members, I’ll do my utmost to make sure this becomes an unforgettable year for all of you!

I will also be one of the Social Safety officers this year. It’s important to me that everyone feels welcome and safe during our activities!
Besides all this I am also a second year philosophy student. During my time as a student i’ve felt very welcomed by my fellow students and Sophians. I’m hoping we as a board will make all of our members feel welcome and give everyone a sense of community

Chiel Nijhof
Commissioner of External Affairs
Hey all you lovely Sophians, I’m Chiel, second year philosophy student, and I’m absolutely honoured to be F.C. Sophia’s newest commissioner of external affairs. Together with the rest of the 37th board it’s our goal to make this year as educational and as fun as possible🔥
My main job as a commissioner of external affairs is to be in contact with all the other study associations or sometimes even corporations so we can do some amazing collabs with them. I’m also responsible for organising multiple activities and being in touch with the proprietors of the locations for the majority of the events we have, so if you have a good idea for a nice Sophia activity or just want to have a fun talk – don’t be afraid to text me or look me up in the Sophia room at 16.18a where I’m likely to be.

Sander van der Snel
Commissioner of Educational Affairs

My name is Sander van der Snel and this year, I will be the Commissioner of Educational Affairs of F.C. Sophia! Of course, this is a great honour and responsibility, and thus I will try and do everything in my power to organize lots of fun educational activities, think about symposia, day trips and study sessions. Next to that, I will also be one of the Social Safety Officers of the board. Apart from my board tasks, I am also just a student like everyone else, and I am currently in my third year of Philosophy, Politics & Society.
F.C. Sophia has since day one been an association where I have felt home and I have made so many fun memories. That is why I am going to do my best to make this association feel like home for everyone! If you ever see me around, do not be scared to have a chat! 16.18 has slowly become my second living room, so come around some time and you may see me there!
