FTR Alumni Event

Hey all you lovely Sophians,

together with Awaz and the FFTR we’re organising an alumni career-information event Thursday the 9th of April starting from 19:00. In this event open to all students, you will get the opportunity to develop your own interests regarding your future.

At the Alumni-event multiple former students of our faculty with a wide range of careers will come to speak about their jobs and the paths they took to get to them, after this you have the opportunity to personally ask them questions or tips for your own path. We have invited multiple known faces and a diverse range of careers. The opening will be done by none other than a famous politician: Lisa Westerveld!

Snacks will be provided and afterwards we’ll head to the yard for some closing drinks.

This event is open to both Dutch and International students, however do keep in mind that PPS is a very young study and as such most of the presentations will be done in Dutch. The opening and at least one presentation will be in English and of course during the Q&A sessions you can ask any questions in English.

We greatly recommend to come to this activity: it’s a perfect opportunity to get more information about different jobs in different sectors and get inspiration for your career path.

Educational City Walk w/ AWAZ

Om April 17th we are organising a city tour through Nijmegen, with our lovely storyteller Arjen Sterke. We will start at 15.00h, walk through the city, and end at the Hemel, where everyone will get a free drink (on us of course 🥳). Paris Trip

Dear Sophians,

The greatest event of the year is rapidly approaching: our Sophia trip to…….. (drum roll)…… Paris!!!!🥖🇫🇷🚬

Some practical information

The trip will be from the 27th of April to the 1st of May
It will cost approximately €275, including hostel, transportation, and activities!
We will travel in the morning by bus from Nijmegen (please don’t oversleep 😴)

MUF Camp

To all philosophers!!!

It’s still early in the year, but all the preparations for MUF are as good as finished! With this chilly, icy weather we want to look forwards to a warm and bright future. This fun future cannot be stopped by this year’s theme: Back to Nature 🌱🌻. Think about the big campfire, the (vegetarian/vegan) barbecue and the outdoors-activities, such as the variety show or swimming in the lake!
MUF (Met Uitsluitend Filosofen – With Only Philosophers) is an annual camp with philosophy students from across different study associations in the Netherlands. With this camp, we will all come together to philosophize, play games, to have a few drinks and to just have a fun time with each other!

The camp will take place on the 29th until the 31th of May. It will be at Scoutinglandgoed Zeewolde.

The registrations will open on the 18th of February and you can cancel your registration until April 15th. The cost will be around €50 for the entire weekend, including camping, activities, and of course, all the food and drinks. Don’t forget to bring your own tent!
